Speaking of...

I love when things like this happen. So I posted that last blurb about the Dead Sea Scrolls going online and this week I found out we are going to have a speaker come in next Tuesday to talk about the Scrolls. Coincidence? I think not! Okay, it's a really big coincidence. :) Here's the info:

Dr. Roy Blizzard, internationally recognized author and Biblical archaeologist, is returning to Hobbs to make another appearance as a Distinguished Lecturer for the Western Heritage Museum Complex and Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 16th in the Complex theater.

He has previously made presentations on, “Intelligent Design and the Biblical Text” and “Recent Discoveries in Biblical Archaeology and Their Significance to the Biblical Record”. He will present “The Dead Sea Scrolls and Their Significance” on his return visit.

Dr. Blizzard has excavated numerous sites in Israel since 1977 and continues to be a major resource for students at the University of Texas at Austin serving as an advisor and committee member for PhD candidates in Hebrew Studies. He is currently the Executive Director of the Biblical Research Foundation and Bible Scholars, Inc. He will have some of his new publications available for purchase.

The public is welcome to attend this free lecture.
